The OnePlus 3 has only been in the worldwide market for a few months, but it's already gaining much popularity among today's tech enthusiasts. OnePlus' 2016 iteration has clearly become a success, and the pressure is on to the company as they plan their next product. According to the latest rumors, the OnePlus 4 will be the ultimate "flagship killer" that will take down the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7.

According to iTech Post, the OnePlus 4 will arrive sometime next year, boasting a lineup of impressive specs that will match or even surpass the features of Apple and Samsung's latest handset offerings this 2016.

Noting OnePlus' yearly schedule of release, it is possible that the OnePlus 4 will be released mid-2016. GSM Arena reported that the OnePlus 3 was released around June this year, while the very first OnePlus unit and OnePlus 2 were released in April and July, respectively. This suggests that OnePlus may be going for the early half or mid part of 2017 launching of the OnePlus 4.

According to Tech Times, the OnePlus 4 might be the first to sport the high-powered Snapdragon 830 SoC chipset running at 3GHz. The flagship killer may also include an Adreno 620 graphics card along with 8GB RAM and extended storage capacity going up to 128GB. The OnePlus 4 is also expected to have a prolonged battery life at 4,200mAh.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 4 will also receive an improvement in the camera feature, boasting a dual camera setup similar to this year's iPhone 7. The camera is expected to have 24MP back camera and 8MP front cam, First Post reported.

However, it is interesting to note that the OnePlus 4 may feature a full 2K (2,560 x 1,440) screen display on its huge 5.5-inch length.

As for the operating system of the new OnePlus handset, it is expected to be the latest OxygenOS, according to India Today. This is mostly based on the latest Android Nougat 7.1 version. The OnePlus 4 is also rumored to sport wireless charging features and dual sim slots.
