Orange Is The New Black Netflix New Season Airs June 2015, New Characters Announced
Good news to fans of Netflix's "Orange is the New Black." The award-winning hit original series has just been confirmed for a third season, according to Den of Geek.
However, fans of the prison drama may have to wait until June this year.
The long wait will be worthwhile, though. Joining as the new "lust object" of both Piper Chapman and Alex Vause in the upcoming season is Australian model Ruby Rose, the International Business Times reported.
Ruby Rose is set to join the series as Litchfield prison's new inmate, Stella Carlin, who is described as one "whose sarcastic sense of humor and captivating looks quickly draw the attention of some of Litchfield's inmates."
Other actors who are set to join the series' Season 3 cast are Mary Steenburgen, Blair Brown, Mike Birbiglia, and Marsha Stephanie Blake. Steenburgen will play Pornstache's mom, even as Pablo Schreiber, who plays Pornstache, has confirmed that he will not appear in the upcoming season. Blake has a recurring role as the new corrections officer. Lori Petty is returning to reprise her brief role in Season 2 as Lolly.
The character Alex Vause is expected to go back to Litchfield prison after she pointed a gun at her probation officer in the finale of the previous episode and was set to skip town. Chapman was the inmate who asked Polly to tip off Vause's probation officer. There will be difficulty between the two once Vause finds out that she is back in prison because of Chapman.
"Orange is the New Black" raked many accolades at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, won the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series.
The series won the best comedy ensemble award, breaking the four-year winning streak of "Modern Family."
Netflix's original series "House of Cards" is also set to return on Feb. 27 for its third season. Kevin Spacey's character is set to step into the Oval office for the first time.
