'Orange Is the New Black' season 5 release date, spoilers: accidental killing's effect on Bayley; Will Bennett return?

In "Orange is the New Black" season 4, Bayley (Alan Aisenberg), a young prison guard, accidentally suffocated and killed Poussey (Samira Wiley), one of the inmates, during a prison-wide riot.

Poussey's death, the first of a fan favorite character on "Orange Is the New Black," left fans heartbroken and angry. Making things worse, after being inadvertently suffocated, the beloved character's lifeless body was left on the floor for almost an entire day as the prison debated how to let the public know about the death. In the end, Litchfield Penitentiary covered up Poussey's killing and referred to Bayley as the victim in the tragic incident.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aisenberg spoke about what's ahead for Bayley and how the inexperienced prison guard will be affected by Poussey's death and his hand in it.

"This is obviously a life-changing thing: To accidentally kill someone would break any person, especially a 21-year-old kid who is not very well educated and just floating through life," the actor said.

"Outside of confirming that this is going to change him a little bit, I'm going to leave it up to [creator Jenji Kohan and the writers] and see what happens," he added. "I think it will be a very interesting ride."

Meanwhile, the show's upcoming fifth season could also see the storyline of another prison guard, Bennett (Matt McGorry), unfolding.

Bennett was last seen in season 3, in which he met Daya's (Dascha Polanco) family and later ran away from her and his responsibilities. In the wake of his abandoning Daya and their child, the baby was almost adopted by Mendez's (Pablo Schreiber) mother and was later placed in foster care.

According to Bustle, the riot at Litchfield, the death of Poussey, and the inmates rising up against the guards just might get Bennett rushing back to the prison. In the season finale, Daya was seen pointing a gun at one of the guards.

Does Daya kill one of them? If she does, will she be on trial for murder in season 5? And will Bennett come back to somehow get their daughter out of the foster care system?

"Orange Is the New Black" season 5 drops sometime in 2017.
