Orlando Magic trade rumors 2016: May have trouble holding on to Ibaka
Serge Ibaka has yet to play a regular-season game since moving to the Orlando Magic, but there have been talks that he may be on the move soon.
According to reports, the Toronto Raptors are looking for ways to bring the former Oklahoma City Thunder forward to Canada and that would mean he would only spend one season in Florida.
Looking at Ibaka's contract structure, he is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season ,and it seems highly likely that he will be on the move again.
Coming from a perennial title contender, Ibaka has moved to a developing team like the Magic which is a few seasons away from contending. Many believe that this will play heavily on the mind of Ibaka as he makes his decision on his future.
Other reports also suggest that the link between the Raptors and Ibaka as the Canadian outfit are now looking for another big man who can contribute both on the offensive and defensive ends just like what Ibaka brings to the table.
In his seven years in the league, Ibaka has steadily tried to change his game for the team. He averages 11.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game.
His productivity has dropped since reaching a career high in scoring back in the 2013-14 season and is considered one of the reasons why he was sent over to the Magic for a number of different players.
However, Ibaka remains as one of the best defensive players in the league, and as long as he remains active in the defensive end, he will always find suitors in the NBA.
At the moment, Ibaka is set to earn $12.3 million in the coming season and should be looking for a big payday when teams approach him for a new contract.
Still yet to reach his peak, Ibaka is only 26 years old and should still continue to improve.
