'Outlander' season 3 spoilers, news: Caitriona Balfe teases Claire and Jamie's reunion details
Caitriona Balfe allowed the fans of "Outlander" to breathe a sigh of relief as she dropped some hints about what's in store for Claire and Jamie in season 3.
In an interview with Elle.com done during the pre-Golden Globes BAFTA tea event in Los Angeles, the actress revealed that it will be impossible to keep her character and Sam Heughan's Jamie apart for a long time. According to the actress, viewers will still get an idea about how the two will live without each other for a while.
"We see a lot of Jamie's life in those 20 years, and we see some of Claire's," Balfe stated. "My story picks up where we left at the end of episode one, season two. So you'll see definitely some Tobias Menzies, which is never a bad thing, I would say."
The 37-year-old Irish actress also revealed that things will not work out immediately for Claire and Jamie after their reunion, since both have a lot of expectations from each other after their time apart. However, Balfe also confirmed that the steamy scenes between the two will still be present in the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, author Diana Gabaldon told Herald Scotland that the filming for the third season of the Starz TV series based on her work is right on schedule. Gabaldon also works closely with the TV production.
"There are 13 episodes in season three and they are right in the middle of the sixth episode," the novelist stated. "They filmed the eighth episode already — they were out of order as they needed to accommodate one of the actresses' schedules. So they have about six-and-a-half episodes in the bag, which is just about where they should be." However, the novelist opted not to talk about the plot details of the upcoming season.
Starz is expected to release the premiere episode of "Outlander" season 3 sometime in 2017.
