'Parks and Rec' and 'Stranger Things' meet as Jean-Ralphio and Steve Harrington make fun video
A lot of "Stranger Things" fans have pointed out that pretty boy Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) has a striking resemblance to Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz) from "Parks and Recreation." Schwartz recently posted a fun video of himself and Keery poking fun at their uncanny resemblance.
Schwartz had been posting videos and pictures of himself and Keery on Instagram, and fans were delighted that the two have a sense of humor. Not too long ago, some fans came up with a theory that the two shows actually occur in the same universe and that Keery's character Steve is actually the father of Jean-Ralphio.
Schwartz himself addressed this and even made his own statement about the matter. He confirmed that Steve was Jean-Ralphio's dad but the true connection between the shows will be up to the series' showrunners.
In "Parks and Recreation," Jean-Ralphio's father is played by "the Fonz" himself, Henry Winkler. The character is a doctor in the town of Pawnee and is much older than the age Steve is expected to be if he was to age with the show (he's a teen in the '80s).
The only theory that would make any sense is that sometime in the '80s, Steve got a girl pregnant and she had Jean-Ralphio. They then put the baby up for adoption and the child was taken in by none other than Henry Winkler's Dr. Saperstein. There haven't been any crazy theories on Steve's connection to Jean-Ralphio's sister Mona-Lisa Saperstein (Jenny Slate).
Aside from the video that Schwartz posted, he also had some pictures of himself and Keery doing funny things. He posted a picture of them shaving in front of a mirror with looks of confusion, as well as a picture of both of them standing back-to-back ala Lindsay Lohan in "The Parent Trap."
Here's to hoping that Ben Schwartz makes a cameo in the second season of "Stranger Things."
"Stranger Things" season 2 is coming out next year.
