'Person of Interest' Season 4 Spoilers, Plot News: Taraji P. Henson as Detective Carter 'Returns' from the Dead
If you're missing Taraji P. Henson on the small screen after "Empire" Season 1 ended, then you are in for a treat. Henson will be back to reprise her role as Detective Joss Carter on the April 14 episode of "Person of Interest."
A fan of the show might ask the obvious question, "But didn't Detective Carter die back in 2013?"
The answer is yes, she is dead, but the episode will show her in a series of flashbacks, as John Reese (Jim Caviezel) will reportedly be working on a case that Detective Carter was not able to solve.
Detective Joss Carter was one of the show's main characters and her violent death shocked viewers. Carter was gunned down and she died in the arms of Mr. Reese, after she took down the head of HR.
The thing about the death is that Henson was actually excited about it. She loved the storyline and she agreed that it had to go to where it went, and the death was clearly part of the narrative. A real journey involved risk, and Henson was willing to take the risk.
"Something big is coming. 4/14/2015" — this is what was posted on the CBS series Twitter account recently, and surely it is something to watch, Henson back as Detective Carter, if only for one episode entitled "Terra Incognita."
Based on spoilers, Carter and Reese will share screen time, one scene of which is a flashback to a stakeout the two were on. The teaser script indicates that the two will be inside a car, in awkward silence. They then speak about what was worse than doing a stakeout.
Carter: You know the only thing worse than a stakeout? Going back to the precinct at five a.m. to do three hours of paperwork about a stakeout.
Reese: No paperwork when you work with me and Finch.
Carter: Good thing, with the stunts you pull.
Both smile.
Carter: Military wasn't much better. Plenty of red tape to go round there, too.
Reese: Never cared much for red tape.
Carter: Never would have guessed.
