PlayStation 5 release date update: PS5 release may take a while after PS4 Pro launch this year; Sony to introduce HDR in PS5?
Sony's PlayStation 4 remains a hot pick among this generation's home consoles. Even though the gaming device has been around in the market for many years, tech enthusiasts and gamers still prefer to buy the PS4. However, amid the success that the PS4 is getting up to now, there are speculations that Sony is already working on a brand new console design, the PlayStation 5.
According to iTech Post, the rumors are rife that the public will see the PlayStation 5 in the next few years. Sony has not yet mentioned about any plans to develop an entirely new PlayStation design, although the never-ending demand from the gamers to get the best gaming experience may push the company someday to create the PS5. Still, if there will be a PlayStation 5, the gamers cannot expect it to be released anytime soon as Sony has recently been busy with the latest PlayStation upgrades.
Sony has introduced a lot of gadget offerings for the past several months. The giant electronic gaming company showcased a virtual reality (VR) headset for the PS4 called the PlayStation VR, allowing the players to enjoy the popular video games of today to a whole new level. As for the PS4 console itself, Sony also unveiled last September the upgraded version of the gadget. Actually, the PS4 has two new designs today, the PS4 Pro and the PS4 Slim. For one, the PS4 Pro is said to boast a lot of new features to improve the quality of gaming, including full 4K support.
With these, it might take some time for Sony to come up with the brand new PlayStation 5 console. This does not mean, however, that the PlayStation followers cannot speculate about the features and design of the next console. iTech Post reported that Sony might introduce the first high dynamic range (HDR) feature in PS5. Also, the PS5 is expected to allow real 4K gaming.
As per Game N Guide, it is more likely that the appearance of PS5 will not be far off from PS4. The trend for the past few years until now has been more towards a slimmer and slick-looking home console.
The earliest possible release of the PS5 is sometime in 2018, although these rumors must be taken lightly without the confirmation from Sony itself.
