The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 is swiftly approaching and rumors are rife about the newest gadgets and devices that will be introduced in the conference. Taking into consideration Gamestop CEO Paul Raines' words which were supposedly in anticipation of some new gaming devices, there are significant chances that the release date of Sony's much touted new gaming console PlayStation 4 Neo (PS4 Neo) 2016 will be announced at the event.

These were Raines' remarks during his interview with Fox Business: "We'd love to see some virtual reality and some new consoles come in. We're going to hear about that at E3. But I'd say for investors, GameStop's very healthy and a very resilient company."

VR World wrote that the PS4 Neo 2016 is expected to debut at the Tokyo Games Show in September. But Digital Spy reported that its launch will be at an earlier time particularly at a Sony press conference on June 13.

The Sony project PS4 Neo will reportedly feature a clock speed that is greater than that of the original PS4. Its graphics processing unit (GPU) is said to be better and with higher memory bandwidth. The PS4 Neo will also have eight Jaguar CPU cores that will operate at 2.1GHz which will be an upgrade from PS4's 1.6GHz. Sony's upgraded PS4 will as well have better AMD graphics core next (GCN) with 36 compute units (CUs) that will be running at 911MHz. Therefore, the PS4 Neo will feature a considerably mightier processing power than its predecessor PS4.

Amid all the speculations on specs and the possible launch date of the PS4 Neo, Sony has yet to make official comments. Avid video gaming fans will have several days more to wait for the company's press conference in Los Angeles wherein it is expected to discuss its latest offerings for its consumers.
