PlayStation Plus Free Games December 2016 list now released

One final month for Sony to treat its fans with a slew of games for the last PlayStation Plus Free release for the year. And it appears that the company is trying to rack in brownie points with a total of six titles across all internal platforms.

The batch starts off with games for PlayStation 4 (PS4). "Invisible Inc.," which is a turn-based tactics stealth title developed by Canadian independent studio Klei Entertainment, tops the list. Released in 2014, it allows the player to take on the role of an agent going on a covert mission. The title received overwhelmingly positive reviews even nabbing a slot for the Excellence in Design and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize for the 2015 Independent Games Festival finals selection the following year.

"Invisible Inc." is joined by action role-playing title "Stories: Path of Destinies." Developed and published by Spearhead Games, the game is set in an anthropomorphic animal character-filled world where a fox named Reynardo is the main protagonist of the narrative. It had mostly mixed reviews with critics citing its repetitiveness as one of its main gripes.

Moving on to the PlayStation 3 console, owners can enjoy two new free games from the subscription loot starting with "Hyper Void." Boasting a 3D shooter scheme, it garnered average reviews with players who were able to sample it having different views on the game's leveling gauge via its arcade-like dynamics when it rolled out just last year. The other game is "Tiny Troopers Joint Ops" 2014 shooter title, which allows players to battle enemies by controlling tiny troopers armed with various weapons.

Lastly, PlayStation Vita is also given two new games in "Color Guardians" and "VVVVVV." The former is a 2015 fast-action, side-scrolling game that calls for swift decision making from players as the gameplay involve avoiding obstacles while collecting goodies along the way. The latter meanwhile is a 2D puzzle platform title from 2010. What differentiates it from its peer from the same gaming genre is that jumping is prohibited; instead, players can backup the character, Captain Viridian.

Comments on this particular list are relatively mixed with some subscribers pointing out that they were expecting some triple A titles especially when the service just increased fee this year. More accepting gamers, on the other hand, welcome the games looking at them as a chance to try releases that they were not initially wanting to purchase.
