PlayStation Plus free games for July 2016 rumors update: 'The Evil Within,' 'Kill Strain' not included?
Contrary to previous reports, popular games "The Evil Within" and "Kill Strain" may not be included in the free games offered for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of July.
With June drawing to a close, PlayStation Plus subscribers have been speculating about the six new titles that will be included in next month's PlayStation Plus free games list. Sony typically unveils its roster of PS Plus free games during the last week of each month, and with June about to end, the company is expected to announce its latest free games list any day now.
Free downloadable games are just one of the many perks of subscribing to PlayStation Plus, the paid PlayStation Network subscription service Sony launched in 2010. Apart from the six free games every month, a PlayStation Plus subscription allows players to get early access to features such as beta trials and exclusive games.
One of the games rumored to be included in the July 2016 free games list is "Kill Strain," the action horror shooter game from San Diego Studio. However, Australia Network News recently reported that the game may not be among the six free games for July.
"Kill Strain," a free-to-play title, will be released on July 12. While PS Plus members will be able to access the game a week earlier than everyone else, it is technically not part of the free games list for July 2016.
According to ANN, PlayStation Plus members will be able to play the game starting July 12. For everyone else, a full version of the game will be made available on July 19.
Meanwhile, "The Evil Within," another rumored free game, might not be part of the July list either, The BitBag has learned. According to the website, while "The Evil Within" was given for free to PS Plus subscribers in Japan in June, there is still no official confirmation that the game will be available in North America and in Europe anytime soon.
According to The Bitbag, the other games expected for the July free game list include "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and "Watch Dogs."
