PlayStation Plus Free Games January 2017: 'Titanfall' tops gamers' wishlists

With Microsoft already unveiling the free titles coming in January 2017 via its Xbox Games with Gold service, Sony has yet to launch its releases for the PlayStation Plus program. That being said, fans are given more time to speculate and campaign for those games that they would like to be included in the first batch for 2017.

The internet is full of game wish lists from die hard gamers who are continuously trying to speculate about what Sony will bring to the table to ring in the New Year. And if these prominent rumors eventually turn into fruition, fans would be delighted as the batch is quite packed with big names enough to have players binge-play on the titles for quite a while.

Topping the list is the 2014 multiplayer first person shooter "Titanfall." The Respawn Entertainment creation has been speculated be coming to the PlayStation Plus library partly because of the release of its sequel about two months ago. However, it remains to be elusive on the subscription plan until now and what better way to celebrate the new year than to give fans what they have always clamored for? It could also be a good ploy for the company to push the marketing for "Titanfall 2," which did not quite make the sales quota despite its impressive gameplay.

"Gravity Rush 2" also joins the speculation train due to the fact that its predecessor has already joined in the fun. Fans are theorizing that because of this, it is only a matter of time before SIE Japan Studio will have the succeeding game jump in the PlayStation Plus wagon.

Other notable mentions from the pool of rumored titles include "Ratchet and Clank," "Knack" and "Saints Row IV." "Rayman Legends" is also said to be a great contender especially when a different iteration from the franchise, "Rayman Origins," is part of the Xbox Games with Gold for the upcoming month.

Fans are expecting some great titles from the PlayStation Plus program as a way to make up for some monthly loots that did not necessarily meet their expectations. On top of that, with the service fee having increased, the subscribers are just being more critical in terms of the "free" games that they can choose from every month.
