Sony officially unveils the latest lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers that will be released in January 2017.

Express UK revealed the list of titles that will be offered for free for PlayStation Plus members starting on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 based on the press release from the official PlayStation blog. But the members of Sony's premium subscription service for their gaming platforms will be a little disappointed to find out that the first offering for the new year will not include an AAA title.

However, the upcoming lineup of free games is still composed of highly enjoyable titles including several critically acclaimed games.

One of the January 2017 offering for PlayStation Plus subscribers include the 2014 graphic adventure game called "Day of the Tentacle Remastered" that was developed and published by LucasArts. The game follows the adventures of Bernard Bernoulli and his friends, namely Hoagie and Laverne, as they try to prevent the Purple Tentacle from conquering the world. The game will be offered free for PlayStation 4 (PS4) players, but it is also available for cross-buying on PS Vita.

Sony will also offer 11 bit studios' survival-themed strategy game "This War of Mine: The Little Ones" for free on PS4 as part of the January 2017 free games list. The game was first released on January this year.

PlayStation 3 subscribers will also get two new free titles next month. It includes Targem Games' vehicular combat video "Blazerush" as well as "The Swindle" from Size Five Games, which is also available for cross-buy on both the PS4 and the PS Vita.

Those who are playing the portable PS Vita could also enjoy "Azked 2" from MythPeople as well as the action-adventure game "Titan Souls" from Devolver Digital. The last title is also available for cross buy on PlayStation 4.

Players have a month to enjoy all the January 2017 offering for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
