PlayStation Plus January 2017 free games list rumors: VR titles, 'Knack' and more as freebies?
Apart from the advent of a new year, PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) subscribers are also waiting for one more thing — the reveal of the free games for January 2017.
Sony is expected to make the big announcement as early as Wednesday, Dec. 28. At the moment, there is no telling what the company has up its sleeves for PS Plus members.
However, there are tons of predictions and speculations roaming around online as to what the PS Plus free games for January 2017 will be composed of.
PlayStation Universe believes that next month will see the platforming beat 'em up video game, "Knack" as a PS Plus freebie as part of promoting its sequel, "Knack 2" announced at the PlayStation Experience.
Another game expected to land a spot in the PS Plus free games list for January 2017 is "Gravity Rush Remastered." PSU believes that it is already being offered for free in various regions.
This suggests that it is only a matter of time before Sony completely offers the visually revamped action-adventure video game for free via the PS Plus program.
"Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster" is also one of the titles expected to make it to the PS Plus January 2017 free games list. It should be a good follow-up to the original version offered in the program back in October.
Express believes that Sony will step it up for the start of the year with its free PS Plus offerings to mark the beginning of a great year and also to make its patrons happy.
Microsoft has been on a roll with its Xbox Games with Gold freebies with titles like "Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition," "Outlast" and "Burnout Paradise" released to members of the program for free.
To match this, it is hoped that Sony will take out the big guns and offer for the PS Plus free games for January 2017 some virtual reality (VR) titles, which they already hinted at in the past.
