Niantic Labs is looking to close the year strong for "Pokémon GO" with a lot of developments happening that have both been already announced and some that are yet to be rolled out. These include the tipped rollout of some additional creatures that will be making the augmented reality game more exciting again.

The Generation 2 list, as what it has been dubbed since its conception, has been lurking around the rumor mills for quite some time now. And while it feels like "Pokémon GO" game as a whole is just merely a half-year old, its popularity over the months that followed its release slowly declined. This is the reason why Niantic Labs is ramping up on the goodies, improvements and tweaks recently. Still, among all of them, the launch of at least 100 more pocket monsters will be the icing on the cake as the biggest update since the game broke through in July.

An article from Forbes cites an anonymous source that shares that this coming Monday, Dec. 12, both The Pokémon Company and Niantic Labs are partnering up to release this massive rollout of creatures. The recent announcements regarding new partnerships with Starbucks and even Sprint for special events that will offer new PokéStops and gyms also coincide with this rumor.

Moreover, the latest update from the official "Pokémon GO" website details the expansion of the Nearby Pokémon feature that allows players to more easily nab in the virtual critter. As it turns out, "trainers in most regions of the world, who can access Pokémon GO from the App Store or Google Play, can now test this new feature."

"To provide a better experience when searching for Pokémon in the real world, we have also made some changes to the way the Nearby Pokémon feature functions when there are only a few PokéStops in range. We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary," an excerpt of the announcement reads.

Loyal fans of the augmented reality game should have their eyes peeled when Monday rolls out shall this update eventually gets announced.
