Ditto is one of the most awaited Pokémon to be released in the hit mobile app, "Pokémon Go," and the developers have finally made it available to trainers. There is also a possibility that the Gen 2 Pokémon might be released next year with another big update.

Reports of IGN claim the shapeshifting Pokémon is now finally available in the mobile app. The Pokémon Company has released a statement with regards to the availability of Ditto in the augmented reality (AR) game.

The statement mentioned, "Pokemon Go Trainers now have the chance to catch Ditto, a Pokémon with a curiously blobby shape and the capacity to mimic the looks and traits of other Pokemon. This means that a Pokemon you think you captured could be Ditto, which reveals its true form only after it's caught. Also, when training or battling at a Gym, Ditto will copy the appearance, types, and moves of the first Pokemon it sees, and it will stay that way through the remainder of those Gym battles."

Ditto is known to be part of the first generation of Pokémon and it has taken a while before it can be captured by players of "Pokémon Go." The Pokémon has also been known to use the move called transform where it shapeshifts to another creature. Also, some players have claimed that Ditto can usually appear as Rattata, Magikarp, Pidgey, and Zubat in the mobile app.

Moreover, it has been reported that the Gen 2 update for "Pokémon Go" may possibly release during January 2017. A hundred more creatures will be added to the current Pokedex of the game and it may also bring players back to play the app. For the past months, the hype of the mobile game has died down and the number of users has drastically decreased.
