The final "Pokémon GO" event for the year has begun and for this holiday affair, players should now experience increased spawn rates for starter Pokémon.

The likes of Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle will have much higher spawning rates from Dec. 30 to Jan. 8, which is the time frame of the holiday event.

In addition to that, the event gives "Pokémon GO" players greater likelihood to come across sought-after evolutions of these Pokémon.

These include Ivysaur, Venusaur, Charmeleon, Charizard, Wartortle and Blastoise. Those who have been hoping to get one of these might actually do, which should allow them to start their "Pokémon GO" career right.

Thanks to this event, the lures will also last longer than usual. During the new year starter, the modules will last for an entire hour instead of 30 minutes only. This should increase the odds of catching more Pokémon.

As this event happens, "Pokémon GO" players can also still take advantage of Niantic Labs' ongoing holiday event, in which incubators will continue to be up for grabs.

In addition to that, trainers would want to maximize their gift of hatching Generation 2 Pokémon from eggs. This holiday event will end on Jan. 3.

The best case scenario here is being able to hatch Togepi, who has easily become in demand simply for its rare evolution form, Togetic.

While at it, "Pokémon GO" players can also purchase discounted bronze, silver and gold boxes. For the bronze box priced at 460 coins, fans will get 100 Poké balls and eight Lure Modules.

For 980 coins, players can score the silver box, which includes eight Incense, eight Lucky Eggs and eight Lure Modules.

Finally, shelling out 2,480 coins for the gold box should net "Pokémon GO" players 50 Great Balls, 25 Incense, 25 Lucky Eggs and 16 Lure Modules.

In other news, it looks like a nest migration on "Pokémon GO" yet again occurred. For this, select Pokémon nests should spawn a new breed of Pokémon.

This change marks the 10th nest migration in "Pokémon GO." The Silph Road, which has provided useful tips and information on the augmented reality game, has all the details on this event.
