'Pokémon Go' release date news update: Game available now in Japan; Asia release still unconfirmed

The most popular mobile game today, "Pokémon Go" has finally arrived in Japan. Players who have been waiting for the game can now play the augmented reality game.

The game was initially set to launch in the country on July 20, but this plan has been canceled due to the internal e-mail that was leaked. Niantic refused then to reveal a date for the Japan release but finally, the game has been rolled out.

Following the anticipated release in Japan, it was reported by Quartz that game servers crashed and people weren't able to play the game. Both the server and the Pokémon Trainer Club logins didn't work. When the game officially rolled out on Friday, downloads after downloads came in and over 10 million users have installed the game on their mobile devices

As expected, people then took to social media to express their frustrations. It is likely that the server issues will be resolved soon. The same thing happened when the game made its debut in Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.

Meanwhile, there are still other countries that are still waiting for the release of "Pokémon Go." Given that Niantic Labs has already released the game to the home country of Pokémon, speculation is rife that other Asian countries like Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and India will be next.

Asia is supposed to be the largest and most appropriate market for "Pokémon Go," but it is said that Niantic isn't sure of the server capacity in the aforementioned countries, International Business Times reported.

So far, there's still no official release date for "Pokémon Go" in Asian countries. Also, the game isn't available yet in Canada and South America. But there are rumors that Asian countries should get the game by next week. This has yet to be confirmed so readers should just take this with a pinch of salt.
