'Pokemon Go' tips, cheats guide: Ways to capture Pikachu with ease

In the Pokemon universe, Pikachu is probably the most popular Pokemon because the original anime series featured it as lead trainer Ash's closest friend. Many generations of Pokemon have emerged, but no one managed to top Pikachu's charisma.

When Niantic Lab's latest augment reality mobile app "Pokemon Go" was released last month, many players hoped to have their own Pikachu in the game. However, people find it hard to capture the cute electric-type Pokemon.

The good news is that people do not need to stress out to have their own Pikachu. Otaku Art shared a few tips for gamers to catch Pikachu, and interestingly, some of the ways to capture it is not as hard as everyone thinks.

At the beginning of the player's "Pokemon Go" journey, he or she can choose Pikachu as the starter Pokemon. This is the easiest way to own Pikachu without the hassle of searching for it. Unfortunately, even at this stage, the game proves that having a Pikachu is no piece of cake. The app may not show Pikachu right away as one of the choices for a starter Pokemon. Instead of Pikachu, players might find Bulbasaur or Squirtle.

Otaku Art advised players to keep going until the game shows Pikachu as one of the options. The player must ignore the other choices and wait until Pikachu shows up, which usually happens in the fifth or sixth attempt, according to GamenGuide.

Another way to get Pikachu is to hatch it from a Pokemon egg. The tip is to walk at least two kilometers and wait for the acquired Pokemon egg to hatch and become Pikachu. There is no guarantee, however, that walking the exact length will yield this result. It will help if the player has a combat power (CP) level high enough for the game to grant the highly coveted Pokemon.

The last tip would be the typical use of incense. This item is used to attract Pokemon to the player's area, although it is not guaranteed that Pikachu will suddenly appear. The trick is to use incense in a place rarely visited by other people, or an unknown area on the map. It would be best if the place does not have any Pokestops or gyms nearby. The incense is expected to attract rare Pokemon and it is possible that one of them could be Pikachu.
