Battles have been pretty much a staple element of all Pokemon games since 1996. For "Pokémon Sun and Moon," that is still fairly the case. However, the battles have evolved in some ways. In "Pokémon Sun and Moon," players are given more options, such as the Battle Royal mode.

The brand-new Battle Royal format is a mode available in the game in which four trainers battle it out against one another in a free-for-all manner. A player can attack any of the three opponents in Battle Royal. The battle ends as soon as one trainer runs out of Pokémon.

In each turn, a player can choose to attack, defend, or switch out his current Pokémon for another one in his team. However, a player can only bring three Pokémon to the battle. The player is also forbidden from using healing items such as a potion or a paralyze heal.

The winner of the Battle Royale is decided based on several factors, according to Trusted Reviews. First is having a combination of the most Pokémon left on the player's team and the most opposing Pokémon defeated. In the case of a tie in the first factor, a player must have defeated more foes than his rival. Third is having the greatest proportion of remaining HP to max HP. Lastly, the player must also have the greatest total remaining HP.

In the same report, Trusted Reviews has also revealed several tips and tricks on how to win in Battle Royal mode of "Pokémon Sun and Moon."

To win in Battle Royal mode, a player must keep on practicing in order to improve at playing in Battle Royal format. The Battle Royal Dome is the perfect place to train by fighting against AI trainers. The Speed stat is also important in determining which Pokémon will be able to land a finishing blow against an opponent.

Having a balanced team is very important, especially since a player is only allowed to use three of his Pokemon. Also, switching out Pokemon is not recommended in Battle Royal. There will be three other Pokemon from the other opponents that could potentially target a player's critter. The Pokémon in a player's roster could be an easy target if switched out.
