'Pokemon Sun and Moon' release date news: New monsters revealed at Gamescom 2016
Four new creatures have been added to the growing roster for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" following The Pokemon Company's game reveal at Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany. The latest addition of new creatures also includes two bizarre monsters that are quite unique to the franchise.
As shown in the trailer below, Crabrawler, Sandygast, Palossand, and Stufful are the newly revealed Pokemon to be included in the increasing lineup. The monsters can only be found in the Alola region where the upcoming "Sun" and "Moon" installments are set per Tech Crunch report.
In the teaser video, Crabrawler shows off its Hyper Cutter and Iron Fist abilities. As a Fighting-type Pokemon, the boxing crab "hates to lose," Game Spot reported. Using its powerful pincers, the crab clings on to buildings. But the Pokémon also uses it to deliver a powerful punch against its opponents. It likes to eat Berries and often like to gather around trees in search of its favorite food.
Also unveiled are two sandcastle-themed Pokemon that are both Ghost and Ground types. Sandygast looks like a pile of sand with a shovel stuck in its head. This sand-based creature along with its evolved form, Palossand, both use their Water Compaction ability to suck their enemies' vitality if they are caught in the nightmarish sand vortex.
Lastly, Stufful is Bewear's first form. Like its evolved form, it is also a Normal and Fighting-type creature known for its extraordinary strength with its Fluffy and Klutz abilities. However, Stufful is allergic to touch. Bewear, on the other hand, shows a strong liking for hugs.
Apart from the abovementioned Pokemon, a fire/dragon Pokemon was also revealed earlier this week at Gamescom 2016. Called Turtonator, this Fire type creature has an imposing figure with an ability to create an explosion. It naturally inhabits the volcanoes' environs and feeds on sulfur per official description.
