'Pokémon Sun and Moon' release date news update: Unique monster featured on new trailer
Following the release of "Pokémon Go" on iOS and Android earlier this month, fans have shifted their focus on the upcoming "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon," which is scheduled to be released in November. Gearing up for its highly anticipated release, game developer Game Freak and publisher The Pokémon Company have released another trailer for the title that introduces a new Pokémon character.
Many fans are intrigued by the new character because it appears that the company needed to release trailer footage for its introduction. What's more interesting is it is not even a Legendary Pokémon, which is kind of surprising given the attention it is getting from fans and critics.
According to a report by Polygon, the new Pokémon character is called Salandit. The monster is said to possess a unique appearance with its black colored skin and a red mark along its spine. According to the publication, the new Pokémon is made of two different elements – the Fire type and the Poison type. Considered as one of a kind character, Salandit certainly has its own mystery.
Aside from its uniqueness, the new "Pokémon Sun and Moon" monster has an uncanny ability called Corrosion. According to reports, this ability gives Salandit an advantage against its enemy because of the poison it releases. It can defeat any powerful Pokémon in the Pokédex. Game observers believe that the new monster will be pretty useful during competitions and tournaments because the unmatchable abilities it possesses.
Meanwhile, the new "Pokémon Sun and Moon" will be the first major Pokémon title since the release of "Pokémon X and Y" in 2013. There are also reports saying that Nintendo will also be releasing three original Pokémon titles, Red, Blue, and Yellow, this weekend on its Virtual Console, Den of Geek reported.
As of the moment, no changes have been made with regard to the release date of "Pokémon Sun and Moon." The game will be exclusively available for Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 18.
