'Pokémon Sun and Moon' release date features updates: Alola Forms, new Pokémon revealed; Z-Ring toy bracelet available soon for Z-Moves
Nintendo has been generous when it comes to giving regular updates about the upcoming games "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon," and more details about new Pokémon to be discovered in have emerged.
The latest information is about Alola Forms, which are familiar Pokémon found in previous games. As explained on the official website, Pokémon from previous games have been found in Alola but instead of their usual typing, these creatures have adapted to the climate of the island region and became a different Pokémon type.
For instance, the fox-like magnificent Vulpix, which is usually a Fire-type Pokémon in previous games, have been found in Alola to be an all-new Ice Pokémon. Vulpix joins Exeggutor, a Grass-Psychic Pokémon who has an Alolan form of a Grass-Dragon type; Sandshrew, the Ground-type that has an Ice-Steel counterpart in the new island and its evolved form Alolan Sandslash; and Ninetales, a Fire-type that now has an Ice-Fairy Alolan Form. The website refers to these creatures as "regional variants."
Apart from the Alolan Forms, new Pokémon have also been revealed. One of the most interesting ones from this new batch is the bird Pokémon Oricorio, which can come in different forms based on where it is originating from. Its ability, Dancer allows it to copy a "dance" move from its opponent.
The game also revealed a new feature called the Z-Moves. This allows players to have a new type of attack that they can use along with a Z-Ring accessory. As reported by Polygon, real-life trainers can wear the accessory when playing the game on the Nintendo 3DS. The toy bracelet will become available this fall, and it will be just the perfect timing for the launch of "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" on Nov. 18.
At this point, the exact release date and price details for the toy bracelet are yet to be announced. It should be an accessory that players of the game would want to have.
