'Poldark' season 3 news, spoilers, and release date: Ross is in for surprise

Many are anticipating the return of the hit UK series "Poldark" as it is expected to delve deeper into British history.

The past two seasons of "Poldark" have gained success for their strong narrative. The story follows the adventures of Captain Ross Poldark, who has returned home after fighting in the American War of Independence. However, reports indicated that he will be faced with some interesting challenges ahead, as coming back home will not be the same as he remembered.

Debbie Horsfield, who is the writer of the series, was able to give insight about what the new season will hold. She said, "We're thrilled to be kicking off series three with a fantastic array of new characters and a story which scales new heights of conflict, feuding, passion and drama... Ross is older but not necessary wiser, and his recklessness sometimes costs him, and his loved ones, dear. We're in for a rollercoaster ride where the stakes have never been higher."

In addition, Turner teased that there is a bright future for the show, especially since there can be a lot of material to cover. He said, "If it continues to be where it's at, I can't see a reason why we wouldn't continue. There's a big time jump between two of the books and Ross gets older—and I can't pull off mid-50s! So I don't know what will happen."

Reports indicate that the third season of the series is already filming in Cornwall England. It had started a couple of months ago, which have fans excited for the episodes ahead.
With that, there is a lot in store for the return of the show. "Poldark" season 3 is expected to hit the small screens sometime in 2017.
