'Power' season 4 spoilers: Charlie Murphy lands prison guard role next season
Actor-comedian Charlie Murphy joins the cast of Starz's crime drama series, "Power," in season 4.
Entertainment Weekly revealed that the star of "Chappelle's Show" and "Charlie Murphy: I Will Not Apologize" will appear in the upcoming installment of "Power."
According to the report, Murphy will portray the role of a prison guard named Marshal Williams, one of the new people in the life of nightclub mogul James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick). However, there are no details yet if Marshal will be Ghost's friend or foe.
At the end of season 3, Ghost found himself heading behind bars after being convicted for the murder of Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) Agent Greg Knox (Andy Bean) even if he has nothing to do with the crime in the first place. The report notes that the former drug lord will fight for his freedom against the police and the media. He will also meet a lot of new allies, as well as some of his past enemies.
One of Ghost's returning foes is his former boss Kanan, portrayed by series producer and rapper 50 Cent.
In the previous season, Ghost believed that he killed Kanan when he stabbed him inside a warehouse. But Kanan managed to survive Ghost's attack, as well as the warehouse fire. However, he opted to keep himself out of sight and hid at his cousin's house in Washington D.C.
Yet Kanan cannot completely make his presence unknown. He plotted to kidnap Ghost's son, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.). This could mean that the drug lords could soon find themselves in a deeper conflict in the upcoming season.
Ghost's wife, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), will also have her own personal struggle when "Power" returns for season 4. According to reports, Tasha will divide her time visiting her husband in prison and looking for her missing son.
Starz is expecting to announce the premiere date of "Power" season 4 in the coming days.
