'Pretty Little Liars' season 7 spoilers, cast news: Wren Kingston returns; Aria and Jason's secret revealed

Wren Kingston, the doctor who was engaged to Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) at the beginning of the series, is reappearing in "Pretty Little Liars" season 7.

Wren was played by "New Girl" grad Julian Morris. Morris is set to make his "Pretty Little Liars" comeback in the back half of the current season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Wren was last seen in the popular teen drama back in 2013 when he inexplicably moved to London with Melissa. Before then, he had become attracted to Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Melissa's younger sister, and kissed her, leading Melissa to call off their engagement. Wren later returned to Rosewood to help out Melissa but told Spencer that he came back for her. He also developed a friendship with Hanna (Ashley Benson) but was rejected when he tried to woo her.

There have long been rumors suggesting that the character is returning to Rosewood, but it wasn't until June that "Pretty Little Liars" creator I. Marlene King confirmed his upcoming return. When a Twitter follower asked King when Wren is returning, the "Pretty Little Liars" boss replied, "Definitely season 7."

While the details of his return have not been shared, Wren has been confirmed to appear in the second half of the current season which will end next summer.

Though the details of Wren's season 7 arc are unknown, many "Pretty Little Liars" fans have suggested that Wren is Uber "A."

Apart from his work on "Pretty Little Liars," Morris has also appeared in "Once Upon A Time" and "New Girl."

Meanwhile, the latest episode of "Pretty Little Liars" revealed a major secret about Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) and Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker). In season 7's penultimate episode, flashbacks revealed that the pair had had a secret affair during the five-year time jump between seasons 6 and 7, specifically after Aria graduated college and before Jason left for a philanthropy trip to Ethiopia.
