Showrunner I. Marlene King was present during this year's Television Critics Association press tour, and she teased that the story picks up a year after the events of season 7A. In addition, executive producer Oliver Goldstick hinted that the characters will evolve this season in a big way, particularly Alison (Sasha Pieterse). More of her backstory will be explored as the story moves forward to its conclusion.

"You'll know more about the DiLaurentis family; a lot of Alison's behavior may not be forgivable, but it's comprehensible," the EP said. Goldstick went on to share that one of the big takeaways fans should be excited about is a musical number. "Singing is one of (the cast's) incredible talents, and we found a way to platform it," Goldstick added.

As far as the other supporting characters go, King mentioned that many fan-favorites are set to return in the final 10 episodes. The actors even asked their producers on the shows that they're currently starring in to allow them to appear on the Freeform drama's final season.

"Pretty Little Liars" still has 10 episodes left before the show bids goodbye, but as early as now, fans are already wondering if it's really the end for the Liars. King revealed that they're not closing their doors on a possible revival.

"There are so many ways to revisit characters and worlds," she said. "It wasn't easy to say goodbye to this group of people but I kept saying, 'We'll find a way to bring these characters and this world back at some point in time.' I don't think it'll be in two years, but at some point in time," she went on to say.

The seventh and final season of "Pretty Little Liars" returns on Tuesday, April 18, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
