'Pretty Little Liars' season finale premiere date, spoilers, news and updates: Freeform sets air date on Apr. 18, 2017
Freeform's popular and long-running teen drama is coming to an end, and the network confirms that the premiere of its final season will be on April 18, 2017.
It was already known that the finale of "Pretty Little Liars," which is the second part of season 7, will start airing on April 2017, but the date was only confirmed by Freeform last Friday, Nov. 18.
While this signals the end of "Pretty Little Liars," April 18, 2017 is also the debut date for "Famous in Love," a new series that is based from a book by Rebecca Serle, and starring Bella Thorne as Paige, an ordinary college student who got a shot at Hollywood.
For the finale of "Pretty Little Liars," it was speculated that some of the show's main characters from the first season are returning to Rosewood, and that includes Wren Kingston (Julian Morris) and Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto).
Furthermore, fans expect a wedding in the way for one of the Liars, and it seems it will have a fair share of mourning too, as one of the characters is reportedly going to die. Speculations suggest it is either Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Toby (Keegan Allen) or Emily (Shay Mitchell.)
In addition, series author Shepard previously teased that the finale will be "really intense, and fans won't be disappointed with how the series wraps up."
The series author also hoped that one of the original core couples would eventually reunite — like Spoby (Spencer–Toby), Haleb (Hanna–Caleb), Ezria (Ezra–Aria), including Emison (Emily–Alison).
Shepard also revealed that the series and the book's differences don't really bother her as they still exist in the same universe, only that they are in parallel worlds.
"You can read the books to get extra stories about Hanna, Emily, Spencer, and Aria, or vice versa. I've loved watching the show and seeing Rosewood come alive," Shepard added.
The finale episode of "Pretty Little Liars" will be titled "Till Death Do Us Part," and the first episode of season 7B premieres on April 18, 2017, 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
