The fans of Fox's highly successful drama thriller series "Prison Break" were surprised by the news that the Season 4 finale shown almost seven year ago will spawn a follow-up chapter. Many viewers thought that the TV series has already ended with the apparent death of the show's lead character, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller). To recall, he was shown to succumb from severe injuries as his wife Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) mourned for his tragic death. It appears that Michael actually survived but kept the fact that he's still alive, and that will be explored in the upcoming fifth season.
"Prison Break" Season 5 will premiere in the early part of 2017, and while it was reported that the revival season will be the very last chapter to tie all the loose ends in the series, there are rumors that the upcoming season will lead to another installment. According to Yibada, there is a possibility that Season 5 will not be the final chapter for "Prison Break" as the series might continue with a sixth season. However, there is no official word yet regarding the future of the TV show after the revival season.
