'Prison Break' season 5 news: Inbar Lavi shares update about her character's eye-opening story; new poster revealed
Aside from featuring original characters, the "Prison Break" reboot will also be introducing new faces. One of them is Inbar Lavi, who recently revealed that her character's story will be an eye-opener for all viewers.
Lavi joins the Fox action drama as new character Sheba, a Yemeni activist who will also be involved with Lincoln. The actress spoke with Bravo's The Daily Dish, and she said Sheba's backstory "could not be more relevant to us right now."
She added that playing the role was a privilege because it allowed her to be a voice for people like Sheba. "It is a crucial, highly important story that we have to share with the world," Lavi continued. "We have to give these people a voice now more than ever, and I am so, so, so delighted and proud to be able to be that voice for them," she added.
Lavi's most recent project is Bravo's original scripted series "Imposters." The show is co-created and produced by Paul Adelstein, who will also be in "Prison Break" to reprise his role as former Secret Service agent Paul Kellerman.
Last week, Fox released a new poster for season 5. "First, it was a prison. Now, it's a nation," the poster's caption reads, implying that Michael (Wentworth Miller) will face a bigger challenge as he tries to escape not only prison but Yemen as well.
The show's Twitter page also posted a series of promo images for the upcoming reboot. One of the photos shows Michael's bloodied and gashed face, which hints that he'll be in a lot of trouble when the drama picks up this spring. Details about how Michael could come back are still being kept under wraps, but Miller previously promised that the new storyline will make sense. As fans can recall, Michael was believed to be dead at the end of season 4.
The fifth season of "Prison Break" premieres on Tuesday, April 4, at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
