'Prison Break' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Emotional plot teased, characters band together for Michael's safe return?

Fans will have to prepare a box of issues before they tune in to "Prison Break" season 5 according to the writers, who have been dropping hints about the revival on Twitter.

"If you don't cry, you are probably an android without an emotion chip," the writers teased when asked by a fan if there will be emotional and tearjerker moments in the series.

"Prison Break" season 5 only has nine episodes, and it was revealed by the writers that each installment will be 42 minutes in length. "We're telling a whole chapter in our characters' lives within these 9 episodes," they teased.

In a new video released for "Prison Break" season 5, the cast and production team revealed more details on the story in the limited series.

Dominic Purcell, who will reprise his role as Lincoln Burrows in the revival, revealed that it will be their "biggest escape yet" as his character attempts to extract his brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) from a prison in Yemen.

Executive producer Dawn Olmstead revealed in the video that "All the people that you loved from the original 'Prison Break' will all play a very significant role in helping Michael and Lincoln get out of that country."

The stakes are higher in this undertaking as they are not only trying to get out of a prison but a whole nation that succumbed to the brutal control of a terrorist group.

As per "Prison Break" creator and executive producer Paul Scheuring, "everything is a threat from all sides" but nothing seems to faze Lincoln from saving his brother.

As Purcell said, it is love and blood that bind Lincoln and his brother and what push his character in "Prison Break" season 5 to charge into a warzone and Michael back.

"It's a story about loyalty, family, sacrifice," Miller said, with Purcell adding that "Prison Break" season 5 might be better than the original.

"Prison Break" season 5 premieres spring 2017.
