'Prison Break' season 5 updates: Dominic Purcell injured while filming
The production of the "Prison Break" revival series is now in full swing and actor Dominic Purcell, who portrays the role of Lincoln Burrows, was accidentally hurt amid all the action on the set.
Purcell sustained an injury in the head and a fracture in the nose while shooting for the "Prison Break" reboot in Morocco when a heavy fragment of iron bar fell and hit him right in the head. He took to Instagram to inform fans of the accident and send assurance that everything was okay and that there was nothing very serious to be worried about. He posted a photo of himself with a bruised and cut forehead and a bandaged nose. He captioned the picture rather light-heartedly, calling the incident a "little accident on set."
Medical professionals immediately attended to Purcell. His treatment included several stitches on his head and his nose.
The actor will have to take a short break from filming while he recovers. Purcell's brief absence will not have to cause a major interruption in the development of production. His planned scenes will have to wait to be filmed for only a while when he comes back in better shape to the shooting.
Meanwhile, Purcell also utilized social media to express gratitude and love for "close friend and brother" Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) who displays concern for Purcell's health and recovery, which Miller ranks as first priority. According to Purcell, Miller is demonstrating leadership and care while the former is not around. Miller is commended for taking the initiative to help push the production to continue to progress.
In "Prison Break" season 5, Purcell's character learns that his brother Michael is alive and imprisoned overseas. As soon as he will have the chance, he will run to the rescue of Michael and this time will be the one to thoroughly plot an escape route.
"Prison Break" will return to TV on Fox for its fifth season after eight years of interval.
