PS4 Pro release date, news & features update: PS4 Pro owners bring up various issues
Multiple PS4 Pro users have expressed the same grievances on the console. The device has reportedly incorrectly recognized a wide range of TV units as incapable of supporting 4K graphics. Hence, several users have only gotten to use 2K HDR.
Although users have reported issues with the console and a particular TV unit, the problem doesn't seem to be consistent. Take for example one user who complained about the console not working properly on an LG OLED65E6 TV unit, whereas another PS4 Pro owner who owns the same TV model managed to get the device to run perfectly.
Reports added that the problem was widespread by the time the device launched. On the Sony's EU PlayStation Forum, a user opted to appease fellow gamers and potential players by suggesting a temporary fix, wherein players can switch the device to safe mode and set the digital rights management from HDCP 2.2 to 1.4. Although the solution gets the console to produce 4K results, the device will reportedly not be able to run all the apps with 1.4 HDCP only.
Aside from the aforementioned problem, a bunch of gamers are complaining about defective PS4 consoles. Instead of enjoying the 4K HDR graphics that the console boasts, gamers are reportedly staring at blank screens.
If and when PS4 owners manage to run the device without problems, gamers will be able to enjoy high-end games with 4K resolution. Sony's console also boasts enhanced gameplay, which supports faster frame rates thus producing heightened visuals for a number of PS4 games. The list of titles include "Battlezone," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered," "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," and more.
At the PS4 Pro livestream event in New York, lead architect Mark Cerny revealed the list of titles that will feature PS4 Pro support.
