PS4 Pro vs Xbox One Scorpio specs, features, price news: Which console is better?
The battle is on between two upcoming consoles from Microsoft and Sony. On the red corner is Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro while on the blue corner is Microsoft's Xbox One Scorpio. Both are mid-generation consoles that have yet to come out in the market.
According to Tech Times, the competition isn't really at its peak yet because little is still known about Microsoft's contender, whose moniker isn't even final yet. Xbox One Scorpio could still be replaced over time. Nonetheless, there is enough information available to compare it to the PS4 Pro which was unveiled back in September.
As detailed in reports, both consoles are going to come with 4K functionality. Playing games and watching films with it is going to be be displayed in 4K resolution. But which one is better? The Xbox Scorpio is said to feature 4K Blu-ray drive. The PS4 Pro does not have such feature though.
Aside from the 4K capability, both consoles are also considered high-end machines. However, they are very different in terms of the incorporated specs. The PS4 Pro is equipped with an eight-core x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" CPU with a 4.2 TFLOP GPU. Meanwhile, reports suggested that the Xbox Scorpio comes with 6 TFLOPS for its GPU. Its CPU is still to be revealed.
It's also said that the Xbox Scorpio has a memory bandwidth of 320 GBps while the PS4 Pro will have 218 GBps. The Scorpio could be faster than the Pro console because it has the same memory bandwidth with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card for PCs.
As for the price difference, Sony revealed that their new console costs $399. It's actually in the same price range with the standard PS4. Microsoft's Scorpio has no official price yet but it could be in the same price range, although it's possible that it will be more expensive.
The Sony PS4 Pro will be coming this Nov. 10 while Microsoft has not announced a specific date yet for the Xbox Scorpio. It's expected in holiday 2017.
