'Quantico' season 2 cast news, spoilers: Aarón DÃaz, Tracy Ifeachor, David Lim join season 2 cast
Telenovela actor Aarón DÃaz has joined the cast of "Quantico" season 2 in the role of a "thrill-seeking photojournalist."
According to TVLine, DÃaz will play León Velez, a character described as having "no home or life outside his backpack." The role is a major recurring one.
Prior to his casting in "Quantico," DÃaz appeared in the short-lived 2011 TV series "Pan Am." He is best known, however, for his work in Spanish-language telenovelas, including "Teresa," "Los Miserables," and "Clase 406."
The actor is said to debut in the upcoming "Quantico" season 2 premiere and will appear in several more episodes after that.
DÃaz will be joined in season 2 by fellow "Quantico" newcomers Tracy Ifeachor, who has appeared in "The Originals," and David Lim, who has been in "Criminal Minds." Both have been cast in major recurring roles.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ifeachor will take on the role of Lydia Bates, "a highly accomplished actuary with a few twists up her sleeve." Apart from "The Originals," Ifeachor has also appeared in "Doctor Who," "Crossbones," and "Blooded."
Meanwhile, Lim will play the role of Sebastian Chen, "a focused and confident future agent." Lim has previously appeared in "90210," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and "Supergirl."
DÃaz, Ifeachor and Lim join previously announced season 2 newcomer Blair Underwood, who will play the role of Owen Hall, a charming and intelligent CIA officer with a dubious agenda.
"Blair Underwood is the kind of actor you dream of writing for," "Quantico" executive producer Josh Safran said in a statement about the actor's casting. "Be it romantic comedy, dark drama, or high-octane thriller — there is nothing he can't do. We look forward to creating a role that will showcase his huge range and boundless charisma."
"Quantico" season 2 debuts Sunday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
