The recruits learn the value of betrayal on the upcoming episode of ABC's action drama "Quantico" season 2.

Titled "JMPALM," next week's episode will see the president's effort to end the crisis. According to the official synopsis, Owen (Blair Underwood) teaches the recruits at the Farm a new lesson on why betrayal is important. The episode highlights a mission of getting the Venezuelan Consul Gabriel Carrera (guest star Javier Muñoz) to turn on his own country. Meanwhile, in the future, Alex (Priyanka Chopra) must team up with Miranda (Aunjanue Ellis) to rescue the hostages. President Claire Haas (Marcia Cross) is determined to end the crisis once and for all, so she comes up with a new plan.

Showrunner Josh Safran recently caught up with Entertainment Weekly and he revealed that Claire is "incredibly involved" with the factions and its inner workings. "We'll learn more in episode 10," he said. "Episode 10 is amazing in that Johanna and Marcia pretty much have a two-hander. They shot one scene all day that's just the two of them, and it's incredible," the showrunner added. Although the episode was shot after the election, Safran shared that they've noticed a lot of its eerie similarities to the current political climate in the U.S.

It was previously reported that "Quantico" is switching to a single timeline this season. The showrunner clarified that the single timeline kicks off on episode 13 instead of episode 14. He explained that episode 14 could even be a new pilot because of its "crystal clear" structure.

"If you've never seen the show before, you could walk right in and not have any trouble following a single thing. It is brand new," he added. "That's why we're set [from changing more of the story to reflect the political landscape], because the structure of episode 14 is so crystal clear without a single moment of confusion anywhere," Safran went on to say.

The second season of "Quantico" airs every Monday night at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
