'Red Dead Redemption 2' news: online site revealed Oct. 2 release date?
After Rockstar Games revealed that "Red Dead Redemption 2" game is already underway, fans are eager to find out more details about the highly anticipated sequel of the best-selling Western-inspired action-adventure game.
The game developer initially announced the development of the "Red Dead Redemption" sequel on Oct.18, 2016. It released the first trailer two days after, showcasing America's great outdoors with Old West gunslingers roaming all over the town. However, the trailer did not contain any other details pertaining to the game.
But the RDR2 fan site claimed that the British online store Littlewoods might have leaked the release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2" on their website.
Based on the information posted on the now-deleted page, those who preordered the game through their website can get their hands on it by Oct. 2.
There are not enough details to corroborate the claims of the Littlewoods website at the moment, but the rumored date does not fall far from Rockstar's intended release date in Fall 2017. A report from iDigital Times, however, claims that the Oct. 2 date could serve as a placeholder, since most game titles are released in the U.S. markets on Tuesdays while games in Europe are normally released on Fridays.
On the other hand, other reports claim that most online sites like GameStop and Amazon are using a placeholder release date of Dec. 31. This means that there is no official release date yet from the game developer.
While the release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2" is still unconfirmed, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously told the attendees of the MKM Partners event in Nov. 2016 that the story of the sequel will be filled with "incredible emotional depth." According to the report from Tweak Town, Zelnick stated that players could expect to see "great story elements and gameplay elements" within the upcoming game.
More details are expected to be announced for "Red Dead Redemption 2" in the coming days.
