'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date news 2016: Sequel apparently canceled?
Following a disappointing no-show at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, fans are still positive that game developer Rockstar Games will find the perfect timing to announce the highly anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2." Prior to the E3 event, rumors of its reveal have been quite rampant. However, due to the recent shooting incident in Orlando, the company decided not to release the first trailer footage of the second installment of the western action-adventure video game.
According to reports Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two interactive believed that it would be inappropriate to announce the game through a trailer following the unfortunate Orlando shooting. However, both companies have yet to provide an official statement with regard to these reports.
Nonetheless, fans should not worry as it was already confirmed by the senior developer for Rockstar Games, Feinstein that the company is already working on the much-anticipated sequel.
Previous reports coming from various tech media outlets suggested that the next installment of the game will be titled "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West." There were speculations saying that the second game of the franchise is actually a prequel. Rumor has it that players of "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be given access to the three major characters – Seth, Irish and a customizable character. However, these reports have not been confirmed by Rockstar Games.
What's interesting is that there are reports emerging online that the game development has started many years ago. If rumors prove to be true, fans may finally be able to experience the new "Red Dead Redemption" game.
Meanwhile, Sony's PlayStation's VP of Third Party Relations & Developer Technology Group, Adam Boyes, denies the rumor that "Red Dead Redemption 2" was supposed to be announced at the E3 event.
"No, this is not true. The length and content we showed have been locked and unchanged for months," Boyes said on Twitter.
