Capcom reveals its plan to offer a free DLC update for the upcoming video game "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" sometime this spring, not long after the scheduled debut of the first-person survival horror game this month.

As translated by Gematsu, Japanese publication Famitsu revealed that the DLC of "Resident Evil 7" is titled "Not a Hero." The upcoming DLC is described as a short story scenario which is separate from the story of the main game's protagonist, Ethan. However, no further details have been revealed yet.

"Not a Hero" is not the only post-game add-on announced by Capcom for "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard." As reported by Gamespot, Capcom has also announced other DLCs for the game, including the preorder bonus Survival Pack as well as a season pass.

The bonus Survival Pack unlocks in-game items and additional difficulty modes for the video game. On the other hand, the season pass features additional and more meaningful content. According to its Steam page, two volumes will be added to the game, titled "Banned Footage." Another story episode is also on its way. However, the specifics still remain unknown.

It has recently been announced by Xbox boss Phil Spencer that "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be a Play Anywhere title. This means that users who purchase the game for the Xbox One will be given a copy from the Windows 10 Store, and vice versa. It will be the first triple-A, third-party game to be included in the scheme.

Unfortunately, PlayStation 4 gamers will not get to utilize the cross-buy or cross-save scheme, mainly for the reason that Sony does not have a PC gaming platform. However, they have been given exclusive access to the video game's demo chapter months ahead before any other platform. They can also enjoy "Resident Evil 7" using PS4's virtual reality (VR) mode.

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is scheduled to launch on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Jan. 24.
