'Resident Evil 7: Biohazard' release date, news, gameplay updates: 'Biohazard' resembles original 1996 game
"Biohazard" takes place in the Baker house, and its gameplay has a resemblance to the original "Resident Evil" game that came out in 1996. Meanwhile, the title is set to be launched in a few days, but pre-orders offer a lot more bonuses and discounts to its buyers.
"Resident Evil: Biohazard" is the seventh title from the survival horror franchise from Capcom. The storyline begins four years after the events that took place in "Resident Evil 6," and it follows Ethan Winters in searching for his wife, Mia. Ethan will find himself waking up in the Baker house, surrounded by the terrifying family that is ready to feed him human flesh.
The Baker family consists of Jack the father, Margueritte the mother, their son Lucas, and an inactive grandmother sitting in her chair. After Jack and the rest of the family members have their fun tormenting Ethan with human remains, the all leave the room, providing the protagonist his chance to escape.
IGN reports that "Biohazard" is similar to the original 1996 version of "Resident Evil," also known as "Biohazard" in Japan. The Baker house might be old, run-down, and placed in a swamp somewhere in Louisiana, but it resembles the Spencer Mansion which provides trapped rooms, suspenseful exploration, and puzzle solving from the gameplay.
Ethan even bursts out "Who builds this shit?" after he stumbles upon a deceiving carved statue in one of the traps.
Meanwhile, "Resident Evil: Biohazard" won't be available in a few days, but several packages are already prepared for its selling day and pre-orders.
The Deluxe Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are available for $90, which includes "Resident Evil 7" and three add-ons that contain four short side stories and two additional episodes.
The "Biohazard" Collector's Edition is available for $180, and it is packed with exclusive items, such as a creepy note from the mansion resident and a 4GB finger-shaped USB drive, while pre-orders of "Resident Evil 7" gives its buyers a 20 percent discount.
