'Resident Evil 7: Biohazard' release date, news: 'Resident Evil 2' demo to be released with the new game?
Two decades after the release of the first "Resident Evil" game, Capcom is gearing up for the debut of the new "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" in late January.
The seventh main installment of the horror survival video game will be the first one that will be played using the first-person perspective. But aside from the brand-new game, speculations claimed that those who purchased the "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will also get the "Resident Evil 2: Remake Demo" upon release.
Reddit user zisforzombiez noticed that a numbered coding seen in one of the sequences of the "Beginning Hour" demo for "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" was similar to the product code for the "Resident Evil: Director's Cut" that was released with a demo for "Resident Evil 2."
The Redditor pointed out that the number 90009 that was found within the demo footage for the upcoming game is the same as the 1997 release. While there is a big chance that the number coding's inclusion in the "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" demo could just be coincidental, it could also be a hint that the previous game demo will be tied with the release of the upcoming game, since reports about the release of the "Resident Evil 2 Remake" had been going around for a while.
However, Capcom has yet to comment on the validity of the said report.
Meanwhile, the plot of the "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will take place four years after the events of "Resident Evil 6." Players will be taken to the fictional town of Dulvey, Louisiana where lead protagonist Ethan Winters' search for his missing wife will take him to a derelict plantation house owned by the Baker family. Ethan will experience a series of misfortunes where he had to find a way to survive all the horrors caused by his host family if he wants to get out of the plantation mansion alive.
The "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
