'Resident Evil 7' news, release date rumors: Next sequel will focus more on the original storyline? Update on 'Resident Evil 2' remake
The last two installments of the "Resident Evil" franchise has been a disappointment for so many fans. According to the reports, fans did not find the last two titles as horrific as the previous ones. However, there are rumors that the upcoming "Resident Evil 7" will show the original plot of the series as Capcom, developer and publisher of the game, is rumored to be planning on going back to its horror roots.
According to NSEAVoice, the game developer is aware of the fans' sentiments with regard to what the franchise has become. The news outlet added that Capcom has promised to go back to the first three installments as a source of their inspiration in making the upcoming sequel. However, nothing has been set In stone yet and fans are advised to not get their hopes up until the company confirms the plot of the next coming title.
The company has also said that they could not provide any information confirming the 6th sequel of the game. However, they said that fans must stay tuned for more updates pretty soon.
Meanwhile, Gamespot reported that Capcom is also planning on doing a remake of "Resident Evil 2." The news outlet suggested that while fans want to have more horror on the next "Resident Evil" project, the remake will be inspired by "Resident Evil 6." If rumors prove to be true, the game developer must come up with a great plot to make sure they don't disappoint their legions of fans.
During his interview with VideoGamer, game producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi stated that their goal is to make sure the remake will get the vibe of the original "Resident Evil." Although the company has yet to announce the coming of the upcoming sequel, the development of the remake has already begun.
