'Resident Evil 7' news: Series veteran returns to star in 'Not A Hero' DLC this spring
A familiar face from the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance is heading to "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard."
Capcom is releasing a new DLC for the horror game this spring titled "Not a Hero," and Chris Redfield will be starring in the update. The game's official Twitter handle broke the news with a post that reads: "Chris Redfield returns in the free 'Not A Hero' DLC for #RE7 this Spring. Who or what is he chasing? Find out soon in this separate story."
As WWG points out, the tweet also dropped hints on the upcoming DLC. Since it's a "separate story," there's a possibility that it's not just a new difficulty setting or an ordinary action mode. Chris might be on a mission to chase somebody, and it could be Lucas, the Baker clan's underachieving and sadistic son.
Players who already finished "Resident Evil 7" were already given a teaser about Chris' return. Once the main campaign is completed, a title screen that hints his comeback is displayed on the screen.
Capcom has already released three screenshots from the next DLC, and one of the images shows Chris standing in front of an unidentified giant mass. A helicopter appears to be flying above as soldiers stand at Chris' side.
Played by "Prison Break" star Wentworth Miller in the movie version, Chris Redfield was first introduced in the original "Resident Evil" game back in 1996. He is a Special Operations Unit Captain of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, an organization he co-founded with his long-time partner, Jill Valentine. He is also the older brother of Claire Redfield, a TerraSave member.
A release date for the said DLC is not yet announced. "Not A Hero" is the third add-on for the game since its launch last month, following "Banned Footage Vol. 1" and "Banned Footage Vol. 2."
Developed and published by Capcom, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
