'Resident Evil 7' news, update, rumors: Latest 'Resident Evil' title to be PlayStation VR exclusive
The fans are all hyped up for the much-anticipated release of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" early next year. The latest installment in Capcom's highly successful "Resident Evil" franchise will be featuring a lot of exciting features and contents that the players have been wanting to see in the previous "Resident Evil" titles. "Resident Evil 7" marks the return of the game series to its horror roots, and it is also expected to be the first game in the series to feature a full virtual reality (VR) support.
For the past several months, the public has seen the emergence of virtual reality headgears such as the Oculus Rift and HTC VIve, allowing players to enjoy the top game titles of today in a whole new level. As for "Resident Evil 7," the horror is expected to reach the virtual reality, although not everyone may have this experience, at least for a whole year after the game is released.
As reported by the PC Gamer, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be a first-person shooter virtual reality game. "Resident Evil" game director Koshi Nakanishi revealed that the first person perspective as viewed in a VR headset is the best way to instill horror in the minds of modern gamers.
However, while many fans have become more excited for the game, the recent "Resident Evil 7" advertisement spreading all over the internet reveals that the game will be a PlayStation VR exclusive for the first twelve months of the game. This means that the gamers should be using their PlayStation 4 consoles for playing and have their PS VR headgears. Those who are using the Xbox One console or the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headgears are surely disappointed by this development.
The said "Resident Evil 7" was first posted on Facebook and is now being shared with other online sites, particularly the Reddit forums. The bottom part of the advertisement states that the game is "exclusive to PlayStation VR for 12 months." With this, the fans can expect that the VR features of "Resident Evil 7" will be enjoyed by people using other VR formats by early 2018.
Nevertheless, the regular version of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platform. All versions of the game are set to be released on Jan. 24, 2017.
