The arrival of Capcom's "Resident Evil 7" in January next year is very important for the long-time fans of the survival horror game series, as the video game marks the return of the "Resident Evil" franchise back to its horror roots. While the fans would expect a meatier plotline and more thrilling and action-packed sequences in "Resident Evil," the latest reports suggest that the players might not need to spend several hours to complete the game.

The latest reports suggest that "Resident Evil 7" will only last up to 20 hours, Mobipicker reported. The online publication noted that there might actually be less survival horror scenarios in the video game, plus it appears that the players will be given access to several ammunitions and weapons against the enemies. Thus, it might be easier for the players to fight the flesh-eating villains and finish the game in less than 20 hours.

However, the fans can still expect that there will be more encounters with monstrous creatures in "Resident Evil 7." It's just that the game itself will not be as expansive as the previous titles in the "Resident Evil" series.

According to Yibada, the players still has much to learn about the Baker Family, which is believed to be the central villains of "Resident Evil 7." First introduced in the "Lantern" demo released by Capcom, the Baker family is expected to spread horror not only in their residence but also in several other locations in town, particularly a mysterious laboratory where most of the evil activities in the game take place.

Meanwhile, the most recent demo video for "Resident Evil 7" reveals a possible new breed of villains. According to Games Radar, the latest game demo titled "Aunt Rhody" gave the players a glimpse of the terrifying creatures described to have a rotten appearance and their mouth filled with sharp teeth. It is also noticeable that unlike the Bakers, the seemingly mutated monsters with razor sharp claws. It is not yet known if the new monsters are related to the Baker family, which was first introduced in the previous trailers as the main antagonists of the game.

The "Aunt Rhody" demo is expected to be followed by a new gameplay demo this December, as reported by VG 24/7. The third and seemingly the last tape video is expected to reveal more about the mysterious monsters shown in the current demo.
