'Rick and Morty' season 3 spoilers, news: 3rd season's schedule teased via Instagram? What we know so far
The clamor for updates regarding "Rick and Morty" season 3 is getting louder and louder, but it looks like creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon would rather give the show's fans bits and pieces of teasers to whet their curiosity for the third installment.
A few days ago, Adult Swim's Instagram account posted an announcement supposedly for the premiere of "Rick and Morty" season 3. According to the post, the show's first teaser trailer for season 3 will air early Saturday morning, at 12:15 a.m., placing the teaser right after "The Eric Andre Show." The post was even captioned, "Get ready."
It was immediately taken down, but not before avid contributors to the "Rick and Morty" Reddit page were able to take a screenshot and subsequently uploaded it to an image-sharing website. Check out the image below:
As the post was deleted, many are convinced it is all a hoax. However, a number of fans corroborated sightings of the post before it was deleted. This raises a question as to why the post was taken down.
People behind "Rick and Morty" season 3 were probably just trying to arouse fans' curiosity on the upcoming season's plot even more, or they could have really been teasing a trailer that will come out soon.
So far, the most credible spoiler was the one released by the creators themselves. Harmon and Roiland released an improvised mini-episode four minutes long teasing events of the third season.
Titled "Summer's Future," the mini-episode shows Morty's sister trying to decide her collegiate path while consulting with Rick. There are speculations that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will see Summer playing a significant role, perhaps becoming Rick's apprentice. The mini-episode could be a prelude to that arc.
Season 3 will likewise feature an Evil Morty and will see Rick's former wife adding more drama to the show. There are also talks that season 3 will follow the "Inter-dimensional Cable 3" plot, which will let viewers react to what they are watching.
Meanwhile, the "Rick and Morty" official Twitter account also shared two concept arts for season 3 featuring Rick's garage and a Gromflamite prison general. Check out the posts below:
There's still no official word on the exact release date of "Rick and Morty" season 3, so for the meantime, keep coming back for updates and further details.
