The upcoming album from Rihanna – which tentatively goes by the name "R8" – just got a big name added to it: Prince, who is said to have written a track on it. This is in addition to Rihanna's much lauded collaboration with Paul McCartney and Kanye West which resulted in the single "FourFiveSeconds."

Rihanna's collaboration with Prince has not been confirmed yet, but rumors are flying that it is a done deal. A source with knowledge of the deal leaked the information to Boston Heralds, saying that Rihanna was excited that Prince wrote a song especially for her after he expressed an interest in collaborating with her. The source also said it is no surprise for Prince to write a song for the "R8" album as Rihanna has caught his attention. After news of Prince's involvement in "R8" surfaced, there was intense speculation that Rihanna would debut the track during the 2015 Brit Awards last February. However, that didn't happen.

As for McCartney's involvement in the album, it is no secret that he recorded the song "FourFiveSeconds" with Rihanna and Kanye West, who is also the producer of the album. That particular song was released in late January while the video was released last month.

This month Rihanna has been busy putting out teasers for various songs from her upcoming album. She posted two snippets from "Higher" and placed it on her Instagram account on March 3. Then she released a clip from the song "American Oxygen" which was released by the NCAA to promote March Madness. In the clip, she is seen dancing in front of an American flag dressed in jeans, interspersed with clips from basketball games.

There is no release date yet for "R8," but many expect that the eighth studio album from the singer will be released sometime this year. Industry insiders said the album could result in Rihanna taking over the charts, like Taylor Swift did last year and Beyoncé before that.
