'Rizzoli & Isles' season 7 spoilers, updates: Duo investigates bizarre death; 'Cagney & Lacey' alum to appear in series' 100th episode?

In the 99th episode, which is also "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7's seventh episode, will see Jane and Maura investigating a seemingly bizarre death. The episode also brings viewers of the show closer to a milestone—the 100th episode—that would see Angie Harmon manning the helm.

"When a bicyclist appears to spontaneously combust, Maura proves his bizarre death is actually a murder and helps catch the science-savvy killer. Meanwhile, Jane's invited to teach a class of FBI recruits at Quantico."

That's what the synopsis shared by Carter Matt said. The manner in which the victim died, with a clear reference to science, is enough to assure that the said episode will be packed with humor. Fans of the show know how things like that interest Maura (Sasha Alexander). Moreover, there's a possibility of seeing Jane (Harmon) in a classroom and teaching, no less. There's no question about Jane's capabilities, but it's no secret that she is more effective in the field than when handing out clear instructions or directives.

The episode titled "Dead Weight" could also be the perfect venue for Maura to do what she does best, which is to solve a crime from a scientific point-of-view. Figuring out how someone exploded while riding a bicycle would be interesting, especially if the death was deemed a murder.

Meanwhile, actress Sharon Gless, who is best known as Christine Cagney on the now-defunct CBS show "Cagney & Lacey," would be appearing on the 100th episode of "Rizzoli & Isles." According to executive producer Jan Nash, Harmon asked Gless to appear on the milestone episode when they saw each other in a restaurant.

"Angie did a wonderful job directing it. It's terrific," Nash said when asked about Harmon's directorial debut.

The upcoming 100th episode will be titled "2M7258-100," and apparently, it will see Jane going undercover in a county jail to catch the culprit behind a brutal murder.
