'Rizzoli & Isles' season 7 updates, spoilers: Duo gets embroiled in complicated case of murder, Ponzi scheme
The episodes of "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 are getting more and more intense as the show nears its finale. Nevertheless, fans would have to wait until next week, Aug. 15, before a new episode airs. The short hiatus might be related to the airing of the 2016 Summer Olympics or a televised UFC fight.
At any rate, here's a quick recap of the events that occurred in episode 9 titled "65 Hours."
The previous episode saw Detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) prepping to testify in court for a murder trial. Unfortunately, the prosecution didn't have a case after all as the murder weapon went missing the morning of the trial. There was no way to prove the motive of the murder, nor was there any way to pin the suspect.
It was a race against time as Jane, Maura (Sasha Alexander), and the rest of the team tried to find the missing evidence and put the murderer behind bars. Frankie (Jordan Bridges) proudly announced they had 41 hours to find it. Jane was determined to find the murder weapon or risk the perpetrator being set free, which almost happened. Thankfully, she found it in a bloody skylight panel, just in time.
The next episode, titled "For Richer or Poorer," will find Jane and Maura embroiled in a Ponzi scheme when a forensic accountant is gunned down in a park.
"When a forensic accountant is gunned down in a park, Jane and Maura are drawn into a sophisticated Ponzi scheme. But the biggest surprise in the case is Jane's discovery that her prime suspect is someone from Maura's past. Jane also makes a life-changing career decision," read the synopsis shared by TV Maze.
Alexander would be directing the 10th episode of "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7, which would also see Jane making a decision that could alter the course of her life.
"Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 episode 10, "For Richer or Poorer," will air Monday, Aug. 15 at 9 p.m. on TNT.
