'Rocket League Steam Workshop' latest news: Steam Workshop supports rollout in December; here's a quick guide to start
Psyonix has just announced that "Rocket League" will have a Steam Workshop support ready by December. Players who are fond of custom levels will definitely enjoy "Rocket League" even more as the Steam Workshop enables them to unleash their creativity while playing the game.
In December, players of SteamOS, PC, and Mac can upload the custom levels that they have created to the Steam Rocket League Community Hub. The Steam Workshop support also allows convenience for modders to share what they have built to the "Rocket League" modding community, instead of editing the game files.
"The Rocket League modding community like our fans on the RocketLeagueMods subreddit, have built some fantastic stuff using the Unreal Engine 3 UDK over the past year — including frenchfries' own Rocket League Obstacle Course (pictured above) and Dribbling Challenge #1 to name just a few," Psyonix wrote on the game's official website.
Once the update rolls out, Psyonix will provide a Steam Workshop uploader tool which will permit modders to upload what they have built. However, the content creators will have to provide some of their personal details like creation name, description of what they have created, the level file and the preview image, before using the Uploader Tool. Once done, the tool automatically detects the information sent and the content creators can now click on the Submit button to upload their works.
As for those asking how to play the Steam Workshop levels on their "Rocket League," it is as easy as accessing the Steam Community Hub, look for the Workshop section (which is still to come) and subscribe to the new Arenas.
The Subscribe button is seen next to the Workshop Level that players want to play. Steam makes it convenient to download it via the automatic detection feature. Then, upon launching "Rocket League," choose the "Extras" found in the main menu and click on "Workshop."
More details are sure to come so stay tuned.
